What is a Ceilidh ?

Ceilidh is Gaelic and means informal get together.
Ceilidhs are traditional Scottish dances, and are often held to celebrate special occasions.
However, no particular reason is needed to hold one and they are held all year around across Scotland.

What happens at a Ceilidh ?

A Ceilidh is a bit like a barn dance. This year the Ceilidh will be a Celtic experience with a blend of Scottish, Irish and Bush music. The evening will consist of dances such as :
The Gay Gordon's, The Dashing White Sergeant and Strip the Willow. Reels,Jigs and Waltzes are included too.
You can dance in a stately or fast and furious manner, or just take it entirely at you own pace.
There is no excuse for not hitting the floor as it is usual to walk the dance without music once or twice before you get into it with the band.

This years Ceilidh is again to be presented as a "Celtic"  evening. A blend of Scottish Irish & Australian Bush music & dancing.

Bring the family, bring friends, bring their friends. Spread the word. Watch the site for more info as we prepare for "Ceilidh 2008 "

* Was a great evening, with over 200 people dancing to the lively music of the "Bush Mill" Band.
